Christmas Honey Cookies


  • 1 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 6 cups all-purpose flour
  • 100g icing sugar Natural Life
  • 120 g orange juice
  • 1/4 cup brandy
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder Natural Life
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon Natural Life
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves Natural Life
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda Natural Life
  • Zest of 1 orange

Ingredients for the Syrup:

  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water


For the Syrup:

Add all the syrup ingredients into a small pot and let them boil. Remove from heat and let it cool.

For the honey cookies:

  1. In a large bowl add the olive oil, orange juice & zest, brandy, cloves, cinnamon and sugar.
  2. Mix well and then add the baking soda and powder.
  3. Add the flour and mix. As soon as the dough becomes soft, start molding.
  4. Place the cookies in a large baking pan, lined with parchment paper.
  5. Then, pierce the honey cookies on top using a fork.
  6. Bake them for about 25-35 minutes at 170°C in a preheated oven.
  7. As soon as you remove the cookies from the oven, soak them in the syrup for 10 seconds and place them on a rack to drain.
  8. Finally, garnish with plenty of grated walnuts or almonds.
