Lemon Iced Tea
Ingredients
4 tea bags (English Breakfast) Natural Life
4 cups of hot water
4 cups of cold water
1 cup of sugar*
The juice of one medium lemon
* Sweetness is a matter of taste and you may find that the tartness of the lemon demands a little more sugar. Alternatively, if you are diabetic or on a sugar-free diet, you can use the sweetener of your choice.
Preparation
Make a brew of tea using 4 teabags of Natural life (English Breakfast black tea) and 4 cups of hot water (filtered water or mineral water will give a far better taste). Allow the tea to steep for no more than 5 minutes, otherwise, it may become bitter.
In a large jug place 1 cup of sugar and 4 cups of cold water. Add the lemon juice. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
A secret here for you. Pour the brewed tea into the sugar/lemon – water mixture and stir. Adding the hot tea to the cold water helps prevent the finished drink from becoming cloudy.
Allow to cool further then serve in glasses over ice. Sprigs of mint and slices of lemon make an attractive garnish.
Enjoy Immediately!
Iced tea will keep overnight in the fridge, but tea has a delicate flavor and for the best iced tea experience it should be drunk the same day.
